The Gainesville Improv Festival is a 4 day long festival which celebrates improvisational and sketch theatre. Our mission is to share the culture and traditions of the vibrant Gainesville improvisation scene with the rest of the national improv community. In addition to the showcase component, the festival also fosters an educational component which has previously featured the following instructors: Jeff Griggs an instructor at Chicago’s Improv Olympic and author of Guru: My Days with Del Close (a biography about Del Close one of the fathers of modern improvisation), Mark Sutton an instructor at the Chicago Second City, and Joe Bill an instructor at the Chicago Second City.
